SHOOTOUT AT BONNIE SPRINGS!

I met up with Stephanie the other day to shoot some fall stuff before the full effect of winter was upon us. Since I really didn’t have any type of fall fashion photos I figured I could give it a shot. I was running a little late so I didn’t get to pick Stephanie up until about 10:00am. We hopped in the car and took off. We decided to head up to Red Rock and see if there was something we could find out there to shoot. After a little bit of driving we came across a place called Calico Basin, a nice little community just outside the entrance to Red Rock.

We hopped out and explored the area. It was very interesting and looked nothing like Las Vegas. I loved it with lots of potential. We got ready and started shooting. We found the only area in the vicinity that had  any trees. She walked into the area and we began shooting.

We moved onto the little boardwalk spot.  It had a couple viewing areas and some benches along the side, a great spot for a photo opportunity.

A little bit farther down the boardwalk we shot against the wood fence and handrail.  The simple location turned out to be some of my favorite photos.

As we were leaving we came across an interesting looking outhouse. The inside not so much but the outside had a very neat looking wood texture. The maroon paint was a good contrast against the black and grey. A simple look, a simple location, a great look.

We decided to leave the park after it began to get busy and we got a few to many rude comments from a rude obese woman. We packed up and head south on the road again. About 7 miles down the road we come across the exit for Bonnie Springs. Neither of us had been there so we thought it would be a good idea if we at least checked it out. We pulled in and parked. As we explored the park we got few odd looks from tourists and employees. Something tells me its not the first time they had seen a photoshoot. We took a couple snaps around the front but we didn’t want to push our luck so we moved to more secluded areas of the property. Off the train tracks we shot this next photo.

We snuck down to the arena and snapped a few photos on the bleachers. I tried to give these photos more of a fashion look that you would find in Vogue or Cosmo.

n the way back to the car we decided to walk dow the roadway instead of the path we initially walked down.  I let her walk a few feet in front of me and then I shot this. It came out bette then I thought and kind of creepy. It feels as if its part of a horror film.
