THIS IS A POST FOR PEOPLE OVER THE AGE OF 18

Talia Rogue, is always a fun girl to shoot.  I have shot her many times now and the pictures always seem to amaze me. I wonder if the impact is the same for others who see the images. She called me over and told me she had an idea for an Invader Zim theme shoot. I said “Cool, what’s Invader Zim?” After being looked at like I was crazy she began to explain the concept to me. She already had a small set setup at her apartment. Once again just another real simple setup. All it consisted of was a blanket with some of the characters imprinted on it and a black sheet, well, and of course her outfit which consisted of Invader Zim t-shirt and panties, along with some black and white striped tights. Once I actually saw the set and outfit I could not help myself but laugh. For some reason it just seemed ridiculous, but still fun!

I used two different lights for this, A hard 500w tungsten work light and my bounce flash. I hate working with hard lights, they are very hot and give an ugly muddy hue to images that can be impossible to get rid of. I exposed for the flash and hoped it would overpower the hard light. I used the hard light solely for focusing purposes and some extra fill light. I tried to use the hard light as a small hair light as well but that failed miserably. Luckily with Tali, she is one of my muses so I get to experiment with her and try new things I normally wouldn’t for a paying gig.

Shooting Tali is always fun because I never really know what to expect, especially when it comes to make-up and outfits. She never ceases to amaze. This shoot was especially fun because of the goofiness of the theme. Aside from my lighting issues I think the photo set came out great!
