Like many people this holiday, I scored a lovely new iPhone 3GS for Christmas. Thank you Santa Bianca, aka Mom. Anyways, like many of those people who received one this holiday I was extremely excited. In fact the phone literally did not leave my hands for almost 4 days straight. Even now, a couple weeks later, it still enthralls me.
So lets get past the regular hype of the iPhone. Its been out for awhile now so most of the features everyone already knows about. One of my favorite new things about this phone is the Voice Control option. Thats for another blog entry in itself. So back on track. Video is the other new commodity added to the phone. Check out my review on that HERE.
After all that new hoopla. we are back to the camera portion. Since I have never had an iPhone before I cannot compare them to see if there is a difference. You can however, see what I have shot using the camera in multiple different places, lighting and situations.
The first photo I took with the iPhone is a picture I took of Skeevers little pug Mick. The photo was actually difficult to take. It was shot at very low light and the pug is quite hyperactive. Getting it to sit still long enough for a half a second exposure was quite difficult for me to achieve. In the end though it turned out to be a cute photo.

This second photo is also of the cute little pug Mick. After playing all day Mick was tuckered out and passed out wearing his Christmas sweater. It was so adorable I just had to snap this next photo.

I shot this next image in a dark room and used only a small LED light to illuminated the image. The picture is a small tag a friend of mine did about 13 years ago that I randomly came across. I had to shoot it after I found it. I think it turned out interesting for such little light and being hand held.

Up next is my friend Jim. I shot this for his ringtone picture tht pops up when he calls. I think its a fun photo. What do you think?

Kari, who we like to call “Brat Face”, is who graces our presence next. When she calls, this is what I see.

Santa Bianca. If you don’t know her then you really should!

Here is Best Buy at around 4:30pm. It came out with a lot of contrast for mid day.

These last two images are of my lovely girlfriend and my Mazda RX-8 out at snowed over boat landing.

All in all I absolutely love the iPhone. I can’t believe I did not buy one sooner. The camera is fun and very easy to use. It uses auto everything and doesn’t have a clear focus. The touch focus is cool. Sometimes while shooting it can react like a carnival fun mirror and distort a persons features. Now with all that negative said, its still by far the best cell phone camera I have ever used! Its a great fun camera that you can shoot family and friends with and instantly upload to your favorite social network and photo sharing sites.
