This new post will take us to a place I have only seen once before, and that was just to drive through it quickly. Thats right, the Hoover Dam. I headed up there with Rory from Realism Photography and his friend Chris.  We arrived at the Dam just around 11:00pm. We parked in parking lot 10 since all the others had been closed down at this hour. Signs all over tells us that the dam is closed at night and no one is allowed. That didn’t stop us, but the police did. So after reading the sign we decided to attempt it anyways. We began hiking down the hill when a police SUV pulls up and announces through his bull horn that the dam is closed and we are not allowed any closer. Read the full story

Synonyx, over at realismphotography.com, and I went out location scouting for some cool places to photograph. Synonyx had a failed attempt at first with a camera malfunction to start off the journey off. So our first attempt was a failure. Once we decided that this location was a bust we headed down to the strip to The LaConcha only to find out that it had been torn down. An empty lot with a cheap tickets for sale booth sitting in its spot. Another disappointment. Read the full story

Hidden about 30 minutes outside of Las Vegas is a ghost town called Nelson. This town is a gateway to the Colorado River that flows into the mouth of Lake Mead. A very popular location of high school and college kids to relax in the water while trying to get away from the city life of Las Vegas. Not to mention some cool jumping rocks. What comes to mind when people think about Las Vegas is usually gambling, clubs, 24 hour booze, food, entertainment and the desert heat. Fashion probably doesn’t even compute to most people. Yes I am fully aware that my titles are epic to say the least. Hah, I need to hold up my sarcasm sign now. Before the name change from Treasure Island to TI and the dismantling of the famous skull one bones sign with the change of the pirate show, this casino used to be my favorite. The Sirens show now sucks,  and the new sign is atrocious.  Some things just shouldn’t change. Aside from that, the casino hasn’t changed very much from the outside, only some cosmetics the the pirate ships. On the inside, still fairly the same, just some restaurant and club changes, but that’s to be expected here in Las Vegas. Read the full story

With all my other posts of the Casinos this week I would feel left out if I did not do another one. So today’s post is going to follow the same routine. The Palazzo is my casino of choice for today. This was a new experience for me. Usually when a new hotel and casino opens i love to check it out the first couple weeks its open. The Palazzo, however, has eluded me until now. I have shot several night shots of the casino but have never actually made it inside of it. So this was a new experience for me so all the photos are from a fresh and new perspective, of course keeping my usual style. Read the full story

Lately i have been heading out to the Las Vegas Strip very early in the mornings this last week and upcoming week. Boredom? Sure but its also a great time to shoot things that you usually cannot due to lots of tourist traffic. When anyone hears the words Las Vegas, one of the first things they, and you, will think of is The Bellagio Hotel And Casino. Made very famous by the Brad Pitt, George Clooney and Julia Roberts film remake Ocean’s Eleven. The fountains come to mind right away when thinking of the Casino. Now I haven’t gotten a shot of the fountains in use yet. I want to shoot it at night. Read the full story

When the words “Las Vegas” get spoken amongst most people they think drunken strippers, over priced drinks and losing all your money. Sounds like a great time right? Sure why not.

So I found myself down at the strip 7:00am. Not sure what exactly to photograph I thought I would just park at a familiar garage and walk down the strip and see what inspires me. It didn’t take me very long. For the last couple days I felt as if I had been in a slump. Not really motivated to do anything so I just sat around, watched TV and vegged out. This pattern could not go on any longer. So when the opportunity to be out at such an early time I knew I had to take advantage of the situation. Read the full story

I used to work as a canvas stretcher for the largest wedding photography company in Las Vegas. I hated every second I worked there, got cheated out of hard earned money, time and my soul. But thats for a different story. Why did I bring this up? Well, as horrible as it was I did gain some cool perspectives.
